Mr.M.S.Krishnan enrolled as an advocate in the year 1983 and joined the offices of Sri.K.Sarvabhauman and Sri T.R.Mani who hailed from the stables of Mr K. Rajah Iyer, Former Advocate General and Justice K.S. Ramamurthy.

Krishnan was instrumental in setting up the partnership Firm, Sarvabhauman Associates, which, in addition to being one of the largest appellate side Firms in the state of Tamil Nadu, also came to be looked upon as a Firm having a formidable original side practice. Krishnan has handled cases in the realm of Corporate and Commercial disputes, arbitration, constitutional litigation and property disputes. Krishnan’s success at the Bar is attributable to his value addition to cases and his “out of the box thinking” which earned him the designation as senior advocate in April 2008.

Krishnan appears regularly before the Supreme Court and a number of High Courts in the country including the Madras High Court, the Bombay High Court, the Delhi High Court, and also in addition at the IPAB, Company Law Board, the National Green Tribunal, the Debts Recovery Tribunal and the Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunal. Krishnan is recognized for his sound knowledge and expertise on strategy building. He advises some of the large corporate houses in the country and has handled arbitration matters involving complex interpretation of the electricity laws, litigation pertaining to international investments in India which involved matters being argued before all the major courts of the country and the Supreme Court, as well as other fora, together with a complicated arbitration proceeding in New York.
In addition to being a successful senior advocate, he has donned the role of an Arbitrator in Tribunals with retired Supreme Court and High Court judges.
Krishnan’s lectures before the Judicial Academy to District judges on a range of topics starting from Arbitration Law, CPC, Law of Precedents have drawn a huge response and continue to be extremely sought after.
Krishnan has also given several lectures on Arbitration and on other Commercial Law to the Society of Auditors, ISACA, Hire Purchaser Association of India, Management Study Centre and Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
Krishnan has participated in interactive sessions with the Law Commission of India on proposed Bills like the Commercial Courts Act and amendments to the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996.
